Cегодняшний 5.5.1 Yoast SEO plugin кладет сайты на одном из хостингов. А на втором работает норм.
НЕ ОБНОВЛЯЙТЕСЬ НА 5.5.1...

Разобрались... Проблема в том, что после этого обновления вся админка начинает требовать сильно больше памяти. Если лимит стоит 64МБ или меньше -- админка (может, но не всегда) крашится, выдавая ошибку выделения памяти.

Самое смешное, что все решается +1 строкой в файл wp-settings.php (не путать с wp-config.php), туда нужно вписать строку:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

32, 40, 48 и даже 64МБ не хватает

Нету. Yoast направлен на оптимизацию и продвижение материала, и отключение основного функционала WP не входит в профиль плагина.
